We strive to maintain a high degree of transparency in our business, and will give you straight, no nonsense answers to any questions our customers may have. We own up to our mistakes and do our best to do the right things for our customers and community
By supporting us, you are supporting a local business that has deep roots in Swanzey and the greater Monadnock region. We try to buy local whenever we can, so your money will likely stay in our shared community
We take pride in our quality work and are constantly improving our techniques. While the style of our products has stayed the same over the years, we’ve made great strides in improving their longevity, fit and finish, and sturdiness for our customers
We want our products to last a lifetime, but unfortunately the ravages of time do affect them. As such, we make it a point to offer repair and maintenance services at a reasonable cost to our customers. This includes replacing parts, recoating, touchups, cleaning, and sanding. Pricing varies, but we try to be as reasonable as we can.
Had a pair of chairs and an ottoman made for us. They are so comfortable! I love that they have a "short chair" option since it's usually a struggle to get out of these types of chairs as a 5ft tall person. Beautiful stain, excellent craftsmanship, and just a super great experience all around! Highly reccomend!!
I love my Adirondack rocking chairs made by Dylan at Old Bridge Farm. He made them so lovingly and they were ready fairly quickly after ordering them. They are more comfortable than other Adirondack chairs I looked at, and it was so fun to see the rural farm and workshop where they were made just for me! They did not come painted, and would also look great natural. I highly recommend working with Dylan! You’ll love your chairs!
Well made Adirondack chairs by Bill Lauer et al!
This place has two gentleman that made my chairs. The chairs were crafted beautifully and are very comfortable. I high recommend this business!!

We get our rough-cut pine boards from Richmond Clapboards, LLC., a local saw mill in Richmond, NH, with whom we have a long standing relationship. Our white cedar boards are sourced from Kerber Farms & Mill Lumber Co., located in Guilford, Vermont. Hardware and other materials such as glue and finishes are sourced from either Choice Industrial Solutions or Hamshaw Lumber Inc., both located in Keene, NH.
The longevity of our furniture varies widely based on coating options, materials, environmental conditions, and seasonal care. We have several uncoated chairs at the farm that have been left outside, year-round, for over ten years that are still functional, if a little worse for wear. We've also seen examples of stained chairs that have been left outside for 3 years that did not hold up well at all comparatively.
With the right care, our chairs can last indefinitely, but the "right care" can be tedious and inconvenient for some people. With our repair policy however, customers can come and have us revitalize old and tired products for as long as we're still in business.
At the moment, we do not have the ability to ship our larger products, but we do offer delivery services for local and regional customers! Delivery fees are calculated based on distance and driving time, so ask us for a quote if delivery is something that you are interested in.
Our care and maintenance recommendations vary based on the coating and material selections of your product. In general though, we recommend placing our furniture on dry, hard surfaces to prevent rotting and keeping them under cover during the winter season.
Uncoated chairs will weather and age over time, developing a grey patina. Some cracking and checking of the wood will occur, and the sanded finish will become rougher as well. Checks and cracks usually don't affect the structural soundness of our furniture, and some light sanding will keep the texture of the wood soft and smooth.
Stained chairs will maintain their original color much longer, and the wood will be much less prone to checking and cracking. Water-based stains should be reapplied every 2 to 5 years to maintain the UV and mildew resistance, while oil-based stains should be reapplied every 4 to 6 years. Damage and wear to coatings can be touched up, but be sure to note which product was used on your item.

We try our best to have items in inventory but typically work on an order basis. Each chair is built and geared towards customer orders...
We are flexible when it comes to order pickup and make it as easy as possible for our customers. Please message us to arrange a pick-up. You can either swing by the farm or meet us at the various markets and fairs we attend.
Old Bridge Farm attends various markets and craft fairs in Keene and surrounding Cheshire county. Most notable markets include the Keene Farmers market and Keene Summer & winter craft fest. This is a great place to test the chairs out for yourselves and meet us in person.
